Our Medical Staff

Our staff consists of three Board Certified Pediatricians who are always available to answer your questions and assist you in the personal care of your child.

Nicola J. Cherry, MD

Nicola J. Cherry, MD, was raised in Klamath Falls. Her undergraduate studies were completed at Mount Holyoke College and she completed her medical studies at the Oregon Health Sciences University in Portland, OR. Dr. Cherry completed her Pediatric Residency at the University of Hawaii in Honolulu. She returned to Klamath Falls in 2000 and in August 2002 Dr. Cherry opened The Children's Clinic of Klamath. Dr Cherry is an adjunct Professor of Pediatrics at the Oregon Health Sciences University. 

Dr. Cherry enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, downhill skiing, gardening, and spending time outdoors.

She is available on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.

Frederich Zwartverwer, MD

Frederich Zwartverwer, MD (aka Dr. Z) is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin. He completed his internship and residency in Phoenix, AZ, and his chief residency at the University of Utah where he received a teaching award. Dr. Z is Vice President of Medical Affairs at Sky Lakes Medical Center (formerly Merle West Medical Center), adjunct Professor of Pediatrics at the Oregon Health Sciences University as well as a legal medical consultant in pediatrics. He has been a practicing pediatrician in Klamath Falls since 1978.

Dr. Z enjoys spending time with his family, grandchildren, and of course, golfing. 

He is available on Wednesdays.

Robert Sears, MD

Robert Sears, MD, is a graduate of the University of Kentucky College of Medicine. He completed a Triple Board Residency in pediatrics, adult and child psychiatry at the University of Kentucky. Dr. Sears is adjunct Professor of Pediatrics at the Oregon Health Sciences University.

Dr. Sears enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, outdoor activities and ballroom dancing. He is fluent in Spanish and Japanese.

He is available on Thursday afternoons.

Amy Holweger FNP

Amy Holweger was raised in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania. She received her BSN, RN, from Lenoir-Rhyne College in Hickory, North Carolina in 1979. She worked in Pediatrics as an RN for several years before returning to school to earn her Master's Degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner from the University of Texas in El Paso in 1996. Amy is bilingual in Spanish and has worked in Klamath Falls since 1997 in family practice and women's health. She prefers working with women and children in her profession as a Nurse Practitioner.

In her free time, Amy prefers the outdoor life. She enjoys gardening, hiking, biking, swimming, camping, and cross-country skiing.
